As a young child, Gene Williams dreamed of owning his own business. At age 12, Gene began working for Ralph Orr, who owned Orr Tire in Slidell. Mr. Orr helped Gene open Williams Tire in a rented building on Front Street. Soon after, Gene moved to an old, dilapidated house on Shortcut Road. He would work out of that house for four more years until he could afford to build the current building. Gene built a successful business based on honesty, integrity, and hard work. His faith in God, desire to do right and strong work ethic earned the trust and loyalty of his customers and community.
After 44 years, Gene came down with an illness, so he brought in a partner, Billy Doyle. Billy runs the shop with the same honesty, integrity, and core family values that Gene founded the company with. Williams Tire & Auto Service will continue to provide "Excellent Service at a Fair Price" for the entire Slidell community and the surrounding area.
